NYU Information Technology would like to offer an internship to a student who's enthusiastic about IT and business management to learn and assist in the management of NYU IT’s sizeable Infrastructure department. This internship provides the unique opportunity to work directly with the Chief Technology Officer to take part in the day-to-day operations of running the largest department at NYU IT.   The ideal candidate will be passionate about IT organization and business management and enjoy learning new things daily. They will conduct research on IT concepts and news, help organize meetings and events with business partners of the university, and act as a valuable resource to help the Infrastructure department make important decisions and stay up-to-date in the IT industry. Through this, the candidate will gain exposure to a high-level management environment - they will take part in important meetings and develop crucial skills in IT management. They will learn what’s the most important in IT today, and learn about the intricacies of Information Technology from a management perspective.   Those studying IT management or business should feel encouraged to apply. Knowledge about Information Technology is preferred but not at all required - there will be plenty of opportunities to learn on the job. This type of internship is not offered very often; this is a rare opportunity to work closely with high-level management and gain unique experience.   Requirements:

  • IT management/business/related field of study
  • Stellar communication skills - written and spoken
  • Understanding of business management
  • Great organization skills

  In this position you will:

  • Communicate with NYU high-level management and business partners alike
  • Organize and prepare business meetings between CTO and partners
  • Take meeting notes and summarize for reference
  • Research IT news/trends and provide reports to CTO
  • Research and summarize complicated IT concepts for quick reference in a management context
  • Assist CTO in daily operations
