The Korean American Association of Greater New York (KAAGNY) primarily serves the 500,000 Korean-Americans living in the New York Metropolitan Area, and acts as the umbrella organization for over 1,000 professional, educational, religious, and trade organizations.
We provide a wide range of services that include Social Services programs, Immigration, scholarship awards. Furthermore, we provide networking opportunities for entrepreneurs and coordinate events to nurture voter registration and political participation. We are also actively involved with the worldwide community by raising funds for disaster relief and always seek opportunities to work with the Korean American community.
KAAGNY aims to help develop a positive image for Koreans and Korean-Americans, and to support the communities we serve. We strive to strengthen the unity of the Korean Americans in New York, to promote social and cultural events in order to share our ethnic heritage with the American public, and to serve as a liaison in addressing societal issues affecting Korean Americans in New York.
We are looking for an administrative assistant whose job will focus on external affairs. People interested in gaining hands-on work experience as well as exposure to practices in non profit work are encouraged to apply.
The selected applicant is expected to work for at least 3 months. Based on performance, salary may increase after three months.
- Fluent/advanced in both Korean and English
- Minimum bachelor’s degree
- Able to work for at least 3 months
- Excellent verbal/written skills
- Prior experience in an office setting is desired but not required.
- Basic computer skills
